
KATHRYN FINNIGAN, MLA, ASLA
Founder | Designer + Qualitative Researcher
Holding a Master of Landscape Architecture, Kathryn has garnered recognition for her award-winning qualitative research on sensory sensitivities in outdoor built environments, recently published in the peer-reviewed journal 'Land.' This work earned her distinctions as an LAF National Olmsted Scholar and Fellow for Innovation and Leadership. Drawing on her expertise, Kathryn founded the NeuroScapes Design Collective to advance inclusive and sensory-responsive design practices. In addition to her role as founder, she advises on the Metro Regional Government's Committee on Disability Inclusion, focusing on invisible and sensory disabilities. Kathryn practices at a design-build firm, Kurisu, based in the Pacific Northwest specializing in Japanese style therapeutic and restorative landscapes.
